LCPC is an acronym for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
The terms “licensed clinical professional counselor” and “clinical professional counselor” both refer to a person who holds a license authorizing the independent practice of clinical professional counseling.
LCPC as a specific title and credential is used to designate counselors in seven states, the largest being Illinois.
LCPC's also are referred to as 'Psychotherapist'.
As a psychotherapist, I utilize talk therapy. I subscribe to various modalities in order to meet you where you are. I provide a safe sounding board and can be the encourager in your life. I frequently use modalities and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness. I am in training for EMDR (Ey Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing) a highly effective treatment for trauma and anxiety-related conditions.
