LCPC is an acronym for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
The terms “licensed clinical professional counselor” and “clinical professional counselor” both refer to a person who holds a license authorizing the independent practice of clinical professional counseling.
LCPC as a specific title and credential is used to designate counselors in seven states, the largest being Illinois.
LCPC's also are referred to as 'Psychotherapist'.
As a psychotherapist, I utilize talk therapy. I subscribe to various modalities in order to meet you where you are. I provide a safe sounding board and can be the encourager in your life. I frequently use modalities and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy. My clinical approach is influenced by Person-Centered Therapy, which means to be a proponent of self-actualization, or the idea that each of us has the power to find the best solutions for ourselves and the ability to make appropriate changes in our lives. In other words, YOU are the expert on YOU. I help facilitate exploration of your emotions, behaviors, motivation, and their outcomes in order to improve your life experiences.
